Happy New Year!!!!  I can't believe its finally 2009!

I'm spending most of my time on facebook....if you wanna add me, its Dawn Reed Vinkavich.

Now that life is kinda slowing down, I'll try to get around and at least read and occassionally comment.  Miss you all!

I can't believe I don't have time here EVER anymore.  In fact, it few and far between when I can even read your pages.  I don't really have any excuse except we're really busy.  But, I don't feel like I'm busier than I usually am.

I'll pop in when I can, but I'd rather spend the time right now reading about you all!  Off to check it out.

XC Update

We've been fighting asthma something terrible this year with Grant's running.  Throw in a coach who has never coached XC and the "family" feeling isn't there this year.  BUT.....Grant is an all conference runner.  This weekend, his goal is to get all sectional.  Cross your fingers that he can breathe, cause his times are pretty good when that happens.  The days he can't breathe....well, the times are ok, but not good enough for him!

John made the varsity speech team again this year.  Thankfully it doesn't start until after XC.

2 more weeks, XC will be over and I should have some time to post!  Later!  (I'm gonna try to read your posts now!)

O.M.G.  I am not gonna survive this year.  John had 3 hours of homework the first night, none the second night and then the third night....He was up until 2:00 a.m. and back up at 5:30 to finish.  No homework on Friday and just a hour on Monday.  I hope it levels out and it was just the getting back into the swing of things.

Grant had a terrible cross country practice the other night.  His friend that got him into cross country will no longer talk to him at all.  This is a kid the complains about EVERYTHING.  His mother doesn't like the new coach and complained to the athletic director even before Coach Laack started.  Dru is mad that Grant is also playing football and called him undedicated.  This is a boy who ran ALL summer long...6 days a week.  My kid is the one that wanted to get a group of the team together to run all summer so we organized a group to run 2X a week together.  Dru's dad committed to run with them one of the days.  That lasted 2 weeks until Dru decided he didn't want to run with his team.  And the mother ran her mouth off about my son, so I'm joining the junior high acting and not speaking to her when we see each other.  I hope she's able to find rides to all the XC meets since she doesn't drive and I'm really not willing to take her now.

Then, he had a bad day at football practice.

Everything is better now (except Dru not talking to him....even on the bus to school daily!).  We'll survive and it will all work out.  Somedays I'd be happy if he quit both sports.  I'd certainly have more time!

We're slowly getting back into the swing of things.  I miss everyone and I'll try to get around to read/comment later on this morning.  Take care and hang in there!

WooHoo....one back in school today.  The other goes tomorrow.  THEN we can get a routine established and this mama will be MUCH happier!
